The event was attended by nearly 250 individuals, effectively reached over 200 congressional offices. The agenda included advocacy training, keynote speeches, and invaluable congressional meetings. The roofing industry, valued at $100 billion and employing nearly 1 million workers, is crucial for addressing housing shortages and maintaining critical infrastructure. We advocate for urgent congressional action on key priorities.

Workforce Solutions:

  • Increase funding for Perkins Career and Technical Education State Grants.
  • Support the Stronger Workforce for America Act (H.R. 6655) and Essential Workers for Economic Advancement Act (H.R. 3734).
  • Allow individuals under Temporary Protected Status or DACA to adjust to lawful permanent status.

Tax Certainty: Co-sponsor the Main Street Tax Certainty Act (H.R. 4721/S. 1706) to make the Section 199A deduction permanent, supporting Main Street businesses.

Innovation Support: Request cosponsorship of the American Innovation and R&D Competitiveness Act (H.R. 2673/S. 866) to restore immediate deduction of research and development expenses.
