The EPDM Roofing Association (ERA) actively supports the roofing industry beyond manufacturing, demonstrated by its recent participation at the 2025 IIBEC International Convention and Trade Show. Held March 6–9 in Orlando, this event brought together over 1,700 professionals focused on building enclosure innovation and best practices.
ERA’s Jason Wilen and Ellen Thorp attended the convention, engaging with peers to discuss current trends and future challenges. Although ERA delivered a popular educational session last year—highlighting insights on roof albedo and energy efficiency from studies by ICF and Clemson University—this year, the focus was on networking and learning from industry leaders.
The 2025 convention featured impactful presentations on topics like artificial intelligence applications in building enclosures, strategies for enhancing roofing performance, and practical approaches to net-zero retrofits. Sessions on forensic analysis provided valuable insights into improving roof durability and longevity, emphasizing the importance of robust roof system design.
ERA’s continued involvement at IIBEC illustrates its belief that collaboration across the industry strengthens all segments—from manufacturers and consultants to installers and building owners. Events like the IIBEC Convention foster essential dialogue and idea-sharing, driving the industry toward better practices and sustainable outcomes.
ERA remains dedicated to active industry participation, reinforcing its role as an advocate for the shared success and resilience of the roofing community.
