“We created this contest to celebrate the aesthetic versatility and performance of EPDM roofing and to discover some of the most innovative installations in North America,” said Ellen Thorp, executive director of ERA. “EPDM is often the preferred choice of building owners because of its low maintenance costs, documented longevity exceeding 35 years, and its ability to accommodate rooftop features such as solar arrays and vegetation.”
EPDM Roofing Association Launches Inaugural Awards Program
The EPDM Roofing Association launched its inaugural EPDM Roofing Awards this week, and iscalling on roofers, building owners, designers, consultants, and contractors to showcase outstanding commercial EPDM roofing systems across North America. The submission portal is open through March 31.
Entries are invited across six building categories: office, retail, hospitality, industrial/warehouse, institutional, and multifamily housing. Awards will recognize newest EPDM roof, oldest EPDM roof, unique applications, and best submission within each category. Two special awards will honor an EPDM roof demonstrating outstanding longevity and an outstanding EPDM roof installed within the past three years.
Category winners will receive $250, with a grand prize of $1,000 awarded for the oldest EPDM roof. Multiple submissions per entrant are encouraged.
The contest is limited to commercial EPDM roofs in North America. All entries will be reviewed and verified by the ERA Technical Committee.
