Buildings: Climate Resilience in 5 Steps
As we continue to deal with the negative effects of climate change, architects and specifiers are starting to consider the importance of resilience when designing a building. A recent article published by Buildings magazine provides 5 strategies for creating resilient buildings, including requiring “enhanced envelope strategies the next time you need to replace your roof or tighten up your envelope, as well as HVAC design that allows for expansion when current cooling capacity is no longer sufficient.”
The article also mentions that “wind-driven water and roofing performance are the top threats to building materials.” EPDM is the membrane of choice for architects and building owners concerned about the resilience of their buildings.
